Some line and wash work using waterproof black fine-liners. Many pens say that they are fully waterproof then prove not to be. I used the Staedler pigment liners from Cass art on Park Street. A splash of winsor and newton watercolour and a dab of pastel has always seemed the quickest way to introduce some lively colour and give a little texture.
